A Little Princess
India to England
said goodbye, goodbye!
All was left
Was a doll
Oh, Papa!
“You are, and always will be, my little princess,”
the words of her father.
she learns, she learns
father killed in battle
Oh, Papa!
everything is different
she sweeps
she Washes
she buys food
leaving her magical world far behind.
Oh, Papa!
COMFORT
she found great comfort in the small things
that life brings
when her father was away
and the days were grey
she would walk about
and try to never lash out
she would tell magical stories
sometimes about quarries
she would hug her best friend
never wanting it to end
ANGER
being a servant
was like a strong current,
taking everything good out of you
you had to try and get through…
everything was taken
and she was so shaken
her dearest things,
it stings!
it was ripped away
that lady was gonna pay!
nothing left but a doll
and a shawl…
everything inside was dying
and it felt like everyone was lying
FREEDOM
the memories came flooding back
the police attack
Sara! Sara! Sara!
he hugged her tightly in his arms
and there was no harms
they had the key
to finally being free
LOVE
it might just be a doll
but its there for me when i bawl
they are my best friends
and that never ends
its my imagination that keeps me sane
on all the days sun or rain
In my English literature class we had to pick five feelings from the movie The Little Princess and write a poem about the feeling and those were the poems I wrote.
